4 10" JL W3's

Okay, it's narrowed down to this:

4 JL's will fit- supposedly. I still havent measured to be absolutely sure... But 6" of space is all the backseat will need to fit the box in there.

I will easily get 140 out of this setup- with 2000-2400 watts. That will probably come later if I seem to think I need it... Prolly a Hifonics Gfizzle Badonkadonk or whatever WTF they are.

2000-2400 watts is excessive for those woofers. i can see about 1500 or 1600, but not 2400. you can easily get into the 140's with three of them. i had the same setup with a JL 1000/1 in my mustang. first i had three, then i lost my trunk by going to four, then i went to two 13W7's with two 1000/1's.

Yah, I need at least 7000 watts to get any SQ out of them at all. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I kina had a feeling 80 was going overboard there. I have my current W3 running on about 10 watts at 8ohm and it rattles the windows in the house.

Until I have time to measure, when finals are done wednesday night hopefully... I will measure the area and see wassup. I mean, 140 would be hella nice, but all I need is hard, fast bass. I listen to mostly metal, so a small, sealed enclosure would work to make my sinuses explode //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

If the measurements do not work out, I will find omething else- but that truck is gonna rock- end of story.

ok heres the deal...i have 600watts going to one 10w3...and i had it on there for 3and half years and it still going strong....so with that said..u have 4 10w3's atleast 5-600watts to each of them in a small box would do u good...put each of them in .6cubes and your good 2 go and u will be knocking down 140's door..

if i can do low 140's with 2 of them i know u can hit 140's with 4 of them

80

i have 1200 watts on a diamond d3 12". that doesnt mean that i need that much power to get equally loud. it is just super clean with that amount of power on it. however, when i had my four 10W3s in my cobra, i had a single 1000/1 on them and it sounded great. the w3 isnt a very demanding subwoofer powerwise. just as a side note, it is a much better woofer than the w3v2.

Okay, I measured! It fits yes!

But a smaller woofer like an RE8 would probably work much better. At the comfortable seat positon, and assuming the box will sit flat on the floor (no sheetmetal *****), the seat back rests gently on the the top edge of the mounting ring.

Main problem is, there is not much telling how much it will effect it to have 3/4 inch MDF underneath it. it may mean I have to put the seat foward another click *cringes* My knees come to the dashboard REAL quick here.

There will be plenty of room for airspace in the box- I am not worried about that after I measured. In addition to the 40"of lenght needed to mount 4 10's, ther is 18 inches of empty seatback.

So, question- How many cubes sealed does a JL 10w3v1 need to be loud/nice sounding?

Thing is...

I could easily fit 6 or 8 RE8s or 10 eD eu700's.
