3rd box for R's?!?!

Well, after being without a system for a few years I decided to get back into it. Started off with a sealed box for my two 10" R's.........that blowed. Then I built a 3 cube @ 32hz slot port(port and subs on same side), stuffed it into the trunk of my stang and faced them toward the rear. About 2X the output with much better sound overall. After pounding the hell out of them(I listen to mostly rap, hip-hop and bass track cd's) and shaking my car apart, I need more output. It just doesn't seem that loud to me anymore. Any ideas on building a higher output box? I'm not an audiophile by any means, I just like gut pounding bass. Possibly use large round ports next time? Larger box with higher tuning? Any and all help is, as always, appreciated.

well, a higher tuned box will get you louder, but its not going to sound nearly as good.

you could try a larger box, but good luck getting it into the trunk of a mustang.

you could try a more powerful amp? i didn't say in your post what you were powering them with

add another cube and fire towards cabin

not always true
When I initially installed the box, I had the seat out and it was firing towards the cab. When I finished the install, I turned it toward the back so the port could have room to breathe and give me 8in of trunk space. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Adding another cube would take up the entire trunk and not leave any room for amp rack.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif Guess I might have to lose the back seat. If I do that then I'll get two 15's. The wife will love that.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Amp is in the sig. Hifonics BXi1606. Supposed to do 1600rmsX1. The subs are giving the amp a final load of 1ohm, and they look like they're getting plenty of power as they move more than my old kickers or orions ever thought about moving. After extended play, the cones feel pretty warm too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I sealed off my trunk of mine

Wow, that's pretty cool. How well does it seal around the trunk lid? Mine has a small gap around the weatherstrip and doesn't seal all that great. Also, are those 12's? My next step may be removal of the back seat and build a fiberglass enclosure for a couple of 15's. If it's not loud enough, put in bigger speakers right?

HOLY F*CK JOEL! I'm seriously speechless....you went from "no subs" to "HOLY F*CK"..........I Love it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Another idea I had would be to switch over to a single 15 in 3cu or 3.5cu tuned to the same 32hz or possibly 34hz. I've been looking at the Alpine R 15's, DiamondD915D2, CV Stroker 152, Soundstream SPLX-15 and a few others. I would like something with dual 2Ohm's to load my Brutus 1606D at 1Ohm, but the sub would need to handle over 1kw. I would build the box and put it top firing(since height of the box can only be 14")with the port either firing toward the rear of the car or possibly toward the cab. Do you guys think the gain of a single higher end 15" would be worth the rebuild? Thanks for all the help.
