3ohms need amp to push 800watts

got a question about resistance and power i got a friend with 3 monster 6000 10's wired in parallel to be 3ohms, check it also with a multimeter. looking to get amp for the 3 ohm resistance. will an amp that is rated at 1000watts @2ohm and at 500watts at 4 ohm work well? so id assume it would be pushing roughly around 750watts @ 3ohms? let me know what you guys think
