350z stock subwoofer location help

Already did a search so no flamin. Just wondering if any of you have used the stock subwoofer location and how you feel it sounds. For those that don't know the stock Bose 10" fires directly into the back of the drivers seat. Is this a terrible location for an IDMax 10"? I will not be competing in autosound comps, I like stealthy installs but would like very good sound out of it. I'd like to keep the back hatch empty of audio equip in at all possible.
