350z Front Speakers

So I am getting ready to install speakers in a 2003 Nissan 350z with bose without nav. Crutchfield shows a very limited selection of 6.5 components that will fit. What have people done to mod to get bigger ones to fit? In my Honda I had to cut some metal out to allow the woofer to fit. Here is the link to what "fits".

you'll need a shallow mount 6.5 or glass a pod

you can fit any 6.5 - 7" mid in that door with out problem....if you make a copy out of the factory speaker of mdf either .75" or .5" i cant recall. Ive done anything from bullshit pioneers to Focal k2ps in those doors with no clearance issues

Thanks for the info man so if i use a mdf spacer ring I can fit a good focal or polk speaker in that place?

hifonics fit perfectly and sound pro..

No hifinics isn't something I would put in many cars. I jsut dont see them as high quality.

I have a G35 (very similar doors) and I fit Polk MMC6500's in there with a .75" MDF ring no problem.

I have heard hifonics comps in a 350z and they sound really nice.

Phoenix gold has some decent comps as well.
