So im looking for some information from epeople who HAVE built some 4th orders! This is what I had in mind for the box. 4.5cubes sealed for the subs, inverted due to depth issues. 510" of port at 47hz, leaving roughly 23cubes ported. Subs are either two platform 1 PSI 18"s or two DC XL 18"s, what ever is cheapest on a crescendo at .5ohm. just want a daily ground pounder that can play music in the 150s please tell me what you experienced 4th order guys think

That box is going to be pretty peaky. I'd go with more sealed and less ported, with a 1:2-1:3 ratio...maybe raise the tuning to 50-52hz. What you're wanting to do now will be loud, but for a small passband.

I'm sure he means 4.5 for each sub, guys...

If so, that's 9 cubes sealed, 23 cubes ported, easily in the 1:2-1:3 ratio.

You need to go back to school and take math again bro. 23+9 doesn't equal 30 which is in the title of the thread. He said the subs need to be inverted because of depth issue which means 4.5 cuft for both subs.

I had 4 15's and my box was 8 cubes sealed and 13 ported with only 200" of port area because of back wall limitations it is tuned to 43.4hz and gets nasty low but still plays higher notes being a 4th order. best thing to do is download WinISD beta program and run some numbers on it. Mine shows 41hz max peak at +5.96 db and it plays everywhere from 34-52hz at +3db and then at 0db its range is 31-61hz and the -3db range is 28-68hz so it plays a very wide range and that doesnt take into your vehicle or anything but will give you a rough idea. heres some videos to check out the power is a RD D9 around 4-5krms
