3000gt

I owned a 92 dodge stealth rttt, its the vr4 of the stealths. I had td05 16g's and supporting, fastest was high 11's in the quarter. They are very heavy, have lots of problems, and will turn you into a mechanic. The transfer cases leak, lifters tap, and are notorious for spinning bearings. Unless you have alot of money to repair it when it breaks don't bother.

I REALLY miss mine!!!!
it was an SL (not turbo FWD) but I made it AWD and slapped a stock twin turbo kit on the N/A motor and blew the doors off all the other 3KGT's and Stealths and quite a few other cars as well... I would trade ANY of my current cars to have it back!! Has some pretty neat stuff, like the computer controlled exhaust and areodynamics. Not to mention whoes think they are lambos or some shit! They are on teh heavy side, coming in around 3800lbs depending on options and such but 320~ HP form teh factory and it is EASY and reletively cheap to get to the 500HP mark. Just turboing my N/A motor with all stock VR4 stuff got me over 300 at the wheels. switched out injectors, added boost, had the exhaust done up and got it tuned and ended up with 402AWHP when it was said and done... All for about $1500~

kinda doubt you had over 400hp

just took a quick look on autotrader and the highest I saw was 12,750 and none are modded/appear beat to death

They can be had for reasonable prices, and are relatively easy to get into some higher numbers.

I've seen a budget (less than $5k) engine build put out over 700hp.

OK but that doesn't change the fact that i did //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

feel free to contact RevHard Inc. in Rock Island, IL and talk to Trent if you are wanting proof LOL... he'll know exactly what car you are talking about if you mention the 400+ AWHP 3KGT that he spent about 2 weeks tweaking and tuning

Have proof?

I know of a few people swapping out things here or there, but not a lot of people go with the fwd to awd...

I too, am curious.

I love the 3000GT's I have never owned one my self but I have always wanted one.. Just never found the right one really to buy or did not have the extra $$$ at the time to buy it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

edited the above post... i HIGHLY doubt I have the dyno slip as it was back in early 2007. car could not be run on anything less than 93 Octane and the dyno was done on 110 octane. You have to remember the N/A motors started out around 10:1 compression ratio, you get much quicker/higer power boosting a 10:1 engine than you do an 8:1 engine. As for the AWD, I didn't really plan to do that but it was pretty much impossible to hook up a FWD car with that much power on the streets. I HAD a lot of people doubting my SBF V8 swapped '90 RX7 as well, until I kciked *** on teh street and at the track. RX7 is a mid-high 10 second car though (gotta love a 2500lb~ car), best I ever got out of the 3KGT was 12.3X IIRC

I have a HO alternator for the 3000GT, so PM me when you get the car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Just keep in mind they are old cars now, all those bells and whistles are probably either going to break soon or be broken. All wheel steering is nice until all the lines rot out and you have to replace it all. I would have a TT 3/s if I didn't need a reliable DD but just a fun car. Not saying there aren't any well maintained ones out there, but they're not too easy to find anymore. PS ask if the 60k / 120k service has been done. If not subtract 1000-1500 from their asking price.

Just my .02

x2, that thing was a beast...remember the 200mph minivan?
Renault Espace F1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif The Escudo was fastest by far.

OP:

3k's are pigs. Too heavy for what you get. Even the turbo'd are heavier than shit.
