Did you try hooking either an amp youre not using or one of your buddies amps up in your car to see if it is definately the amp? If another amp is working with everything the same wiring wise it's your amp.

Hooked the amp up last tuesday to a nightshade.. dad drove my truck over the weekend to chicago and back.. had the amp turned off thru the deck and when i went to turn it back on last night it was in protect.. re did my ground and all my wires check out.. What is going on?

an RF tech told me that if the only thing you have connected is the power, ground and remote and your amp still goes into protect its very likely that your amp is done

I had a similar problem with my 1500D. Quit working out of no where and the power and protect light would blink together. Never could figure it out or find the original invoice. Ended up selling it to another person on here.

Most times when protect is on with nothing obvious a part has been rattled off the board when we get it back.
