well the body and interior look great, But pics are very misleading sometimes.. HAve you had ( or know of any problems with the series 2 3.8 or the S/C, ****** etc?

Hell Even if the body and interior are in great shape , and I pay 3K for the car it would almost be worth dumping another 3-4k for a new motor, and still have a nice 'older' new car..

nothing serious but all that same model cars are notorious for bad elements in the heated seats and leaky trunks when it rains dont open your trunk the next day or all the water will drip into your trunk that and the motors on the window regulators go bad sometimes i had to replace the one in the rear passenger window but besides that nothing really

Honestly, all american made cars are pretty much crap. You get what you pay for, which is why a 94 Accord or Camry in good condition still goes for 3-4 grand. My 1999 Malibu was completely done at 150k, any maintained Honda or Toyota will still drive like its new at 150k

thats all relative man.. I have a 96 grand am GT I used as a delivery car for 5 yrs , so it wasnt being babied, and it has been through hell , it has 180k on it and still is the most reliable car ive ever owned, and starts up IMMEDIATELY in our MN winters that are 40+ below zero, still has plenty of power, smooth idle and ****** shifts and will not die..

My friends toyota IMO is a POS ( 2007 corolla S ) Nothing but problems .. Anything can happen to anyone, which is why I didnt come here looking for comparisons, but Facts about the 3800 motors , trannys, etc etc ..

Well if it has a good interior and exterior, and drives at least semi well, Im more than likely gonna pick this up tomorrow.. A friend of mine is a Genius with this exact motor.. He has a 2000 GTP that he has done some insane work on , and hes putting 420 hp to the wheels and running low 11 quarters, in a car that is completely stock on the inside.. SO he will be the first person I take it to, on my test drive to get it checked out

My family has had 4 full sized cars with the 3.8 in them. Mileage when retired varied from 200,000-400,000. All of them went to the junk yard after being in an accident, motors still ran great. Best motor GM ever made, if the car looks like it's been taken care of well, I'd buy it.
