300+ rms components? I want treble, and ALOT of it

I see the CVL6k's on the cadence website for $529 though, whered less than $200 come from?

Would they be that much better than the CDT CLS60's?

As far as actually getting LOUD and keeping up to my substage

im in the same boat, i got a rockford amp that will do about 280rms per chan @ 4 ohms
It was a gift so i can return it but id like to use it

I have CDT Es 610 in the doors

the rms handling on the cdts is 150 ,so id be over powering them by 100 per side

do you think would hang?
yes, do it! my fronts are rated at 60 watts when run with the passives. i am running them active and have 5 time the rated power on tap and they do great.

why ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifthat part i dont understand here, sry ...
because even with a decent 90db sensitivity rating, sending them their rms rated power, they are quieter than my stock speakers....

its widely known that these speakers need 300w or so (at least running them passive they do). IIRC the old pro 6.5 were rated at 400w rms so its not surprising to me that the new pro60's need quite a bit of power as well.

edit: ill say it this way. like anyone else i like to try new things. from 60w speakers to 150w speakers. ive always wanted to try the pro60. i did the research and people said they need 300w or so. i said, "ok, well if they really sound as good as people say, and they need that much power, **** it, ill get that much power". no you dont need 300w to run a decent set of speakers. all i know is the pro's get loud as **** off that wattage. i will say this though, i haven't had speakers that have made a half way decent sound stage using the stock speaker location besides my current pro60's

Any more advice? Possibly buying 2 sets of the $100 CDT's and running them in the kickpanels?

Or would a set in the $200 range just in the doors with a good set of tweets sound better?

Thanks

Just load up the front doors like steve Meade did, lol! Just don't suggest you go with that amp he has running them. Being you might be living as a homeless person.

I have heard nothing but good things about the PG RSD's. Matter of fact, just picked up a 6 and a half set myself today.

Might not take 300rms, but heard people running 120 plus and sound great!

i am running mine active with 200 rms on each mid and 100 rms on each tweeter. so 300 a side.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well my space upfront in my car kind of limits me to a single set of components unless I wanted to cut up my door panel and make customs kick panels, so if theres a set of 6.5's for a good price that get real loud...

like, cant possibly want any louder because they play rock music to the point of making your ears bleed kind of loud. I dont know why I like some of my music as loud as I do, but Id like something to impress me...

So the CDT 60's for $100 arent that great?

I havent really heard much about there volume level, just mostly people opinions on how nice the tweeters are

Never heard of horns, why would they be better for my goal?
heres a pic of some horns...this is the front stage for my 06 Saleen

yes horns might be your best option for nothing but vocal and highs they play only high frieq's

i was looking for the same thing something in your same budget to get loud in the vocal range i was considering the cdt 62's, mb quarts, polk momo's, and the rsds
