Hi Folks!

I'm helping my roomate beef up his explorer a little. However, he hates subwoofers. So we are going to bridge a 300/4 and run it 2 channel in his front doors of his explorer.

I know it has a 6x8 hole, but what do you guys think? Would you convert the hole to a 6 inch round hole or would you buy 6x8 components? Can anyone recommend a speaker for each? Is running a 3 way even an option?

I'm a little bit out of my element since he wont be running a sub... any help is appreciated.

my doors had 6x8's in them also and I am running the kicker 5 1/4 comp. set in the front doors. The set comes with an adapter plate that mounts over the 6x8 hole and allows you to mount the 5 1/4 in the door with no modifications. they're pretty beefy though, so make sure you'll have enough clearance between the speaker and the door panel.

Sorry... Its a 2000 Explorer. I would assume if I ran a 3 way I would just have to cut a hole for the mid? What would that be? A 3 inch?

Can anyone recommend a good set of 3 way components? Please remember there will be no sub in the car?

Kove... I'm pretty sure I can make the baffle, but whats the cost?

like 40 shipped for 2 baffles . it wouldnt be to hard to make but its all in the detail . i would make a 1/4 plate thats shaped like a 6x9 then make a 6 1/2 cut out for a mid their . and paste on the 6x9 piece but yeah isnt to hard but some people dont have tools so my services are always here
