I have a set of CDT ef-61cfi components and I want to add a 4 inch driver to it....

the compontents are a 4ohm set

the 4 inch driver is a 8 ohm...

how can i get a single 4" driver in the door and connect it to a single set of wires

(the wires that are on the door speakers)....

the comps can handle 150 rms @ 4ohms

the 4"driver can handle 150 rms @ 8ohms

I am considering getting a 5.25" driver that is 4ohms... but the powerhandling is much less like 50rms

and my amp can do 300@4ohms....

thoughts?

What will you be using for processing?

What do you mean by getting a 4" driver connected to a single set of wires??

You can use an 8 ohm driver as a midrange....you just get half the power you would at 4 ohms.

the doors have a single oem set of wires for the OEM speakers... I normally connect my crossover to these wires and my amp to the other end. Which prevents me from running new wires through the door. I want to be able to use the drivers that I have and get a 4 inch driver to add to the comp set. I dont mind getting another crossover but I would need some advice on where to get it or how to make it

You need to actually build an entire new crossover network to properly acomplish a real 3 way setup. This is something that takes some time and experimentation. You need to figure out what the response of the drivers are and explain the placement a little bit more. Are you using a 6 Tweet set in kicks and then wanna put this 4 in the door? If thats the case thats a bad Idea, you want your tweet on the same axis as the midrange speaker not the mid woofer.
