3 subs vs 1 bad boy

i have 3 X MA15D6 in a sealed 6 cube box ...pushing them is a kicker kx1200.1 amp .... i was thinking of getting a single solo X 18' but will have to build a super huge ported box for it /......and more power ?? what do u guys think ??

hmmm why would u want a Solo X for daily driving, kinda impractical if u ask me. I would hook up 2 Magnum D2's and put em in a ported box with ur 1200 watt amp. Solo X is gona need more watts than suitable for daily driving. 3000+

i jsut heard my buddy with his and it was heart pounding and he is using the same amp >>>> i can also strap them and get a little under 3000rms to drive the sub >>> i want to join a comp but i think my sealed 15's will not get me far

i did an install in a 2000 camaro ss with a single solo x and two orion 2400's. it was way more than any one guy needs in an everyday driver. that monster sub needs a ton of room too. i built a box exact to kickers specs and we had to pull the rear seat. like what was said earlier, kinda impractical.

thanks !!!! another question what if i wanted to enter a comp .... should i pull out my sealed box and put in a ported ?? using only 2 X15's in port with big cubic box ....

i am running 1480rms >>>kicker kx1200.1 @ 1 ohm

3 ma audio 6 ohm dvc 400rms each

i dont know exactly the area that your subs will be placed in. it is different from car to car as you probably know. generally a ported box will be louder, but that is not always true considering that you are comparing two subs to three subs in different boxes. it is one of those things that you are probably going to have to test yourself in your ride.

cause im thinking down the road im going to try and build a ported enclosure for my 3 ' 15s but i will need around 11+ cubs with 6 ports to make the box hit really hard
