3 subs on 1 amp? different impedances in parallel (8,8,4)

I have an amp which runs 400WRMS at 2ohms. 2 subwoofers which are both 100WRMS at 8ohms, and a subwoofer that is 4ohms at 200WRMS. My question is would I be able to run all of these in parallel on a mono amp?

Afaik 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/4 = 1/R

R = 2ohms

And with a single 200WRMS sub and dual 100WRMS subs it should all add up to 400WRMS.

Would this setup work?

Cheers.

You asked a question, I answered and now you want to argue your point? If you think it will work, go right ahead.
I wasn't arguing, I was just asking for an explanation.

the power flow will do exactly what you want giving the two8 ohm subs 100w and the 4 ohm sub 200 but the difference in speaker specs can literally cause the 4ohm speaker to ruin the other two
Thanks, I'll have a bit more of a look into why that would happen.

Cheers.

itll happen because the 4ohm sub is going to move more and have more motorforce than the 8 ohm subs. so when the all of them try to excurt the 4 ohm sub is going to move further causing the 8 ohm sub to be restricted and heat to build up within the motor the heat enemy of all electronics will eventually smoke the voice coils on the 8 ohm sub and possibly the 4 ohm sub as well since it will be under more load than normal as well

Thanks a lot for the info, google wasn't helping much.

Do you think running them a bit under RMS would help fix this issue?

Also the 4ohm sub is sealed and the two 8ohm subs are ported. I believe this would directly affect the amount of excursion they would have, so now that you bring up excursion as the issue, the boxes being different makes me think it's a bad idea.

No. This was a bad idea from the start, just drop it. You cannot run all three of those subs together successfully...Parallel the two 8 ohm subs and just run them off the amp at 200W.

Quit being ghetto and do the **** right. Either use the single 4 ohm sub or the 2 8 ohm subs, not all 3.
