3 "gain setting" questions

Hey guys,

Im in the process of setting my gains for my mono sub amp and 4 channel amp and I have these 2 questions:

1. When setting the gain for the mono sub amp, the DMM reads .665 or so on AC Volt setting

My voltage should be set at 66.5V so since its just .665, does the decimal point matter in this case?

2. Does the car have to be off or on when setting everything?

3. I have 4 speakers, 2 front and 2 rear on a 4 channel amp, and they are all 4 ohm speakers.

Each channel puts out 80RMS. So is it 320RMS watts TIMES 4 ohm load since each speaker is 4 ohms?

thx for the help!

1) is your DMM reading volts? millivolts? that will be the deciding factor
2)I do it with it on, shouldnt matter though

3) no, do it by channel. square root of (80*4)
thx for the reply!

Hmmm...maybe I had it on millivolts. Would it matter though? Just the decimal, right?

Oh, and what teat tone do you play for 6x9 speakers in the rear and a set of componants up front?
