You will never find a collection like this in one place again. I bought these from the HK Outlet in CA when they still had one. This was waaaay back in the day when all the horn cars had 3 of them, I figured if they had 3, I would buy 4. Then I realized that the reason they all had 3, was that's all that could fit in the trunk of a car side by side. My Image Dynamics horns are gone but my amps remain.

These were my dream amps. I even have an article from Car Stereo Review by Ken Pohlmann somewhere where he reviews these amplifers. They were supposed to go in my Benz, but a mortgage, 3 kids and a lifetime later they still sit in my garage unused. Now it's time to move on and get past it.

The 400Q was used in my Prelude for a few months until thieves stole my ES deck and Dynaudio speakers. It does have a scratch on it.

One of the TC600's was hooked up once at the stereo shop I worked at in Oregon. If you need a vouch I can give you the name of an owner of a high-end shop in Oregon who was the actual installer back then that hooked it up. Those shop 6x9's have never sounded that good before or since. The rest have been taken out of the packaging but never hooked up.

Serial numbers just to give you an indication of when I got these:

TC-400Q #019

TC-600 #030

TC-600 #165

TC-600 #172

These are not for the faint of heart or the average audio guy. The only people who were alive when these things were the $hit were probably around when Alpine still had chiclets buttons and the 7909 was the dream deck. This is from that era. For those of you who want to get back to those halcyon days of car audio, these are it. Thanks for looking.

I know what they are because I'm that old. I wish it was the 8 inch version but shoot me a price anyway. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Heck I'm old enough to remember my buddy having those amps in his Nova. His were more of a black/brown color though.
Since no-one has ever sold them before, $200 for both sets? Would that work? The amps your buddy had were probably the black with the purple writing, I got these silver ones because they were supposed to go into a silver Benz. I had actually gotten sponsor agreement from JBL to do their Beta car audio speakers and then a week later I left the car audio shop to move back to California. ****it!

I'll take OBO, don't worry I won't be offended.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way and proven that I'm not full of the proverbial sh*t, how about you buy these amps so I won't think you're a window shopper?

HAHAH Well played, fellow San Diegan!

Tons of people who will call BS on for sale posts - who aren't even interested in the first place, nor in a financial position to buy such nice amps!!!

Myself, I don't know anything about these amps, but if they're anything like the Sony ES series then I know they're good. But i build my systems cheap.

Free bump to the top of the forum!

Thanks man, I may have been slightly rude but I don't think he needed to use that kind of language either. Funny. He didn't come through on the sale. Does that mean I win?

As far as these amps vs. the Sony's... The Sony ES line is definitely SQ but the big complaint (not by me) about them as well as a lot of Japanese amps is that they had SQ but no balls. You compare them against the old school PPI, RF and PG amps and those American amps were all about balls and SQ. Just a different design philosophy. I know I'm generalising but it's just what a lot of people thought back when I was into audio almost 20 years ago. Today? I don't even know.

Back on topic, these amps (American made) not only did SQ but they **** current like it's free (in a car, it's not) so that they have the headroom of basically your electrical system (that could actually be bad). So they're fast as long as you can support them. This is why I have 7 1-farad caps sitting in my garage for these amps, basically I was going to run 1 for each power input (1 on the 400Q, the 600's have 2 each). Doesn't matter now, someone is supposed to pick them all up this weekend.

I'm really only interested in the deck and maybe the processor right now, if you do decide to seperate let me know.
Shoot me a price on the deck and processor, add $50 and I will throw in the changers. I bought them used from a buddy like 10 years ago so I won't use them either.
