You will never find a collection like this in one place again. I bought these from the HK Outlet in CA when they still had one. This was waaaay back in the day when all the horn cars had 3 of them, I figured if they had 3, I would buy 4. Then I realized that the reason they all had 3, was that's all that could fit in the trunk of a car side by side. My Image Dynamics horns are gone but my amps remain.

These were my dream amps. I even have an article from Car Stereo Review by Ken Pohlmann somewhere where he reviews these amplifers. They were supposed to go in my Benz, but a mortgage, 3 kids and a lifetime later they still sit in my garage unused. Now it's time to move on and get past it.

The 400Q was used in my Prelude for a few months until thieves stole my ES deck and Dynaudio speakers. It does have a scratch on it.

One of the TC600's was hooked up once at the stereo shop I worked at in Oregon. If you need a vouch I can give you the name of an owner of a high-end shop in Oregon who was the actual installer back then that hooked it up. Those shop 6x9's have never sounded that good before or since. The rest have been taken out of the packaging but never hooked up.

Serial numbers just to give you an indication of when I got these:

TC-400Q #019

TC-600 #030

TC-600 #165

TC-600 #172

These are not for the faint of heart or the average audio guy. The only people who were alive when these things were the $hit were probably around when Alpine still had chiclets buttons and the 7909 was the dream deck. This is from that era. For those of you who want to get back to those halcyon days of car audio, these are it. Thanks for looking.

Sorry Side Show, I of course cannot find my digital camera. I pulled out one of the Owner's Manuals- still in original plastic, still with original piece of tape holding it in the plastic, still with the unused factory screws in unopened factory screws plastic. These things are pristine.

I'll take pics of the owners manual when I find the stupid camera. In the meantime:

TC600 TC400Q

Power output, RMS

4ohms 200x2 70x4

2ohms 300x2 100x4

4ohms bridged 600x1 200x2

Current draw at

idle 7.5A 6A

Full power music

-4ohms 20A 13.3A

-2ohms 30A 20A

Full power test tone

-4ohms 60A 40A

-2ohms 90A 60A

You will never see ratings like these with todays amps because today's electrical systems are just better- more people have caps, etc. These stats are part of the reason these amps are SQ kings- powerful and musical- but they **** current like it's water, so you had better make sure your electrical system is upgraded. In the day when caps were rare, this was an issue, today not so much. Reminds me though- I have 7 1-farad caps to go with these things.

S/N ratio 100db 100db

Dimensions:

16 5/8" x 12 7/18" x 3 1/4"

Weight:

14lbs. 12oz.

Built-in fan protection as well. These things are tanks.

man with that old school c910 and these amps you'ld have a hell of a sq setup
I know. In 1993 this would have crushed all before me. I probably had the best sounding under-the-bed system for hundreds of miles. Unfortunately, I've never installed the TC-600's so I will never know. I love the 910's looks but again I have no idea how it sounds, it has never been installed in my cars ever, I got it used from a fellow employee from my old shop.

Get some pics with the date and I won't think you're full of sh*t.
Although I understand why you're asking, there must be some nicer way of doing it. Something like, "hey, can you take a picture with a current date so I can verify you own these?"

Nonetheless it's a valid question. Here are the pics with a current issue of SI. Now that I've gotten that out of the way and proven that I'm not full of the proverbial sh*t, how about you buy these amps so I won't think you're a window shopper?

whats in the coustic DR box?
Hi Majette, first of all most people don't even know how to spell Coustic any longer. They were one of those weird brands that made both awful stuff that everyone looked down on, as well as *****in' stuff that no-one understood and therefore no-one bought. For both those reasons they went down pretty quickly and are relegated to the back-memories of old people like me.

To answer your question, it's basically 2 6-inch subs that are mounted on each side of a "V". The open top of the "V" mounts under a sedan decklid and you get bass. I happen to actually have 2 of these, for a total of (4) 6-inch subs. I was going to use them in my Accord... but I didn't. Then my Prelude... but I didn't. Then my Benz... but I didn't. Now I have a hatchback Supra so no decklid to mount them, the crazy idea I had was to stick them under the dash so I had bass up front, but who am I kidding?

I just don't think anyone will have any idea what they are so I think it's pointless to even try to sell. Everyone these days wants H-U-G-E bass and these are not for them.

Any trades?
I'm sort of getting out of the audio scene and trying to concentrate on converting my Supra to a turbo version. What kind of trades are you looking to do? Again if you read my post you'll see I'm a dinosaur, I don't know what's cool today so I've offended most people hoping to trade with me (sorry again guys!!!) because every time they've offered me cool stuff my response has been "what's that?"

Maybe a really nice 5-channel amp, and a nice 6" component set, and some Pioneer flat subs would be nice, but really I am hoping for cash to fund my engine project. You can make offers but honestly I really need some cash or I will have a non-functioning car.

Hey would you trade the 3 TC600 for a built Switzer 3lm turbo. Good for up to 70lbs of boost. Duel thrust bearings, updated impeller, new shaft berrings. Has not been ran sence rebuild. Replaced it with a Holset H5C. Turbo cost me $350 and St Jo Diesel charged another $350 for the rebuild. Also had the exhaust side housing ceramic coated.

I know what they are because I'm that old. I wish it was the 8 inch version but shoot me a price anyway. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Heck I'm old enough to remember my buddy having those amps in his Nova. His were more of a black/brown color though.
