Um, what Jmac posted reinforces the fact that adding another sub with the same amount of power gives a 3 db increase.

I meant adding another sub and putting the same power to it as the firs one. Like if i had a se12 with 600w going to it i was talking about adding another se12 with another 600 going to it......

in theory - if you also double the box size, ie; 1 12/2 cubes/600w > 2 12's/4cubes/1200w, you have effectivly doubled displacement and would equal a 6db gain.

The most ive been able to squeeze out is about 3.5db from double sub/power. Probably wasnt that much... I'd be willing to bet one of my subs in half the box would be louder than one sub with the other one not hooked up/taking space.

In the monte carlo 2 12's (rear firing at least) was never as loud as one. THe note had to go down so much that even with double the cone and double the power the score went down.
