okay my future plans include hooking up 2 500/1 and a 300/4 jl amps. I plan on doing the big 3 under the hood. Then taking a 1 guage or 0/1 wire to the back and running a distru block with 4 ga out to the amps. Im wondering if this would be sufficient. I know my friends 500/1 on his new mustang dims the shit out of the lights in the interior. Should i do a cap? or a diff alternator?

A capacitor on an already suffering electrical system will help you in no way at all. They CAN be useful, butnot in this situation.

A new alternator and new/beter battery would be your best bet. And 0/1awg should be sufficient. Just be sure to fuse properly at the split.

Hmm, might be a stretch on that one. I think they have like a 65-70 amp alternator(?). You could try it and find out..... might have to go with a high output alternator though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

that whole 65-70amp alternator thing kinda hurts my feelings... haha **** it..im kinda scared to look what it actually is.

a friend of mine ran those same amps but on a newer cobra, he had a custom alternator made or some crazy nonsense because there wasnt a big enough one avaiable. still he had to have his car rev to a higher rpm to get max spl. which made it hard on your ears when you had to be inside the car... flexxed the roof a lot though with the 2 13w7's.
