DEH7800 Installation blues

well, my pio 7800 came in yesterday and i was completely stoked on how it looked and felt, but as soon as i set it in the dash after wiring it stopped working. i took it out of the dash and it hasn't powered since...so i take it to my buddy's audio shop to get it up on the bench and test it. sure enough, the display turns on and everything is working fine. i looked in the fuse box under the hood and found a blown fuse (to the stereo) and replaced it. that still didn't solve the issue though!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif i measured the voltage output from the acc wires and got 12v, but for the constant 12v i'm not getting anything! is there something im missing? i checked the fuse under the dash and everything seems to be fine...im afraid i may be tearing my dash apart in the morning trying to find out what the problem is. any info or suggestions would be awesome so i can get this bad boy up and running!

Im not sure whats going on...Sometimes fuses can be separated and still apear to be intact. but if it were me I wouldnt tear apart my dash. I would simply Run a new fused constant wire from a 12v source such as the fuse pannel or the battery. That would save you a few hours of trouble shooting.

Fixed the problem..the wire was actually in really bad shape so i re ran it and it works fine...but the 7800 itself is defective.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif the rca outputs are bad...they're picking up electrical noise REAL bad. I tested it on a bench again, this time testing the outputs and sure enough...that is the problem...now im shipping the unit back and getting a replacement...sad day:crying: ...what can go wrong will go wrong!! thanks for your input tho, chevy.

When it was powered on it looked NICE. The display amazed me and it even had a halfway working tachometer. I like the functions and features but that isn't worth jack shiat if it doesn't serve it's purpose.
