2x orion 1200d amps with L5

Hi. I need some help in wiring my system and also understanding ohms law i guess. Any who i have two orion 1200d amps. From my understanding i can bridge these two amps and combine power or i can provide power to each sub. now i have not got the L5's yet but i wanted to get two of them. Now i know that they make two modles. the dual 2 ohm and the dual 4 ohm. Now where im confused is where to go from here. bridge the two amps with dual 4ohms subs or bridge it with dual 2ohms subs or bridge each amp to each sub with either dual 2 or 4? Any help i would appretiate. If you have experience with the amps please let me know how you like them and how you have them wired and to what. i am planning to get my system going with the whole chabang.

I would just run one amp to one sub. I heard that the 1200d's have a problem with being strapped. I don't really know for sure. I had a 1200d and it really put out some power. I sold it and got a 2500d. Get the dual 2's and run each amp at 1ohm.

I have no clue really as to how the amp strapping works. but I think you would end up wiring one voice coil to each amp?

Thanks to college tuition, I'm too poor to afford a sub that is capable of this kind of power, so I'm not positive as to how it all works.

You do know 2 L7's would work fine on one Orion 1200d right. But if you wish to overpower them, Get the dual 2ohm model and run each sub on its own amp @ 1ohm.

No need to strap them.

well i have not gotten the subs. Now i do have the amps. THough from what i heard, in order to stack them, you need to run the speaker out puts from one amp to the other. its in the manual. then use one negative from one amp and one positive from the other then you have the amps stacked. At least this is what i know. i may be wrong. Though my goal was to find out how these amps peform. i cant wait know to hook everything up. Thanks for the replys. so i will try then to run one sub to each amp on dual 2. but i wanted to get some replys on which sounds better on this amp. if i get it to 1 ohm or 2 ohms.

Do you have the electrical system to support a Strapped pair of those amps? They will draw alot of current, trust me.

You can strap them as low as a 1ohm final load and they'll be fine IF You can keep the supply current up.
