2ohm or 4ohm?

my amp sux its a legacy la790 1200 watt amp but i plan on getting a new one soon i got it as a gift so im gone use it cause this is my first system

Um, get like 16 gauge speaker wire, and if you are building or have a box? wire it to the terminal cup (or get 1) then if it is a 2 channel amp and you're bridging it, look at the speaker outputs, it will show the bridged config on it and attach the wires corresponding with the amp wire guide, positive to positive, negative to negative.

???

you can just go to wal-mart and get speaker wire, it is cheaper that way, or any car audio store really, you can actually get speaker wire from pharmacies such is CVS, RiteAid, Walgreens, whatever. I don't understand what you are talking about wiring to the amp, you don't need anything for the amp, just get an allenwrench, unscrew the connections on the amp, put the wire in, and screw it down on top of the wire.

Actually you might be able to get 600 watts RMS which is just fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...Edit: I hate the way the have the manual setup, bridged I'm not sure but you'll get from like 300-600 RMS watts out of that amp, it's not specific.

Adjust the gains properly...what you do it turn up your radio 2/3's, then turn up your gain untill it is where you want it/right before it starts distorting.

Bridge the speaker to the amp, alls you do is wire the positive to the positive bridge channel (same screws and what not) and the negative to the other end it will show you!...To attach the wire you insert the wire b/w the screw and washer then tighten it down.

and wire the speaker like they said.

thats wat i was saying i just unscrew it on my amp i dint know if it was like that on evrey amp or not

but on that etronics link you gave me im not going to get the new version b/c it takes more watts and with them amp i have i think the old version would perform better dont you think?

do you think i should trust etronics if i do order from them

Yeah I just ordered the type R from etronics.. somone else posted it in a dif topic.. Anyways the 2ohm would work good with a bridged 2 channel at 4 ohms.. And later if u decide to get a new amp you could get a 1 ohm stable one and wire it to that.
