2nd batt question

but if your front battery is wired in parallel with the rear battery, they act as one big battery. see what i'm saying?
seth's rear battery isn't isolated from the front battery so he isn't just running his sub amp off the rear battery. he has his whole car running off of BOTH batteries at once, as do i.

tell me if you understand...
makes sense, good call

I plan to do a run of positive and negative for my 2nd battery, and if ever the case I plan to upgrade I can always just make that negative run a posi run and have a 2nd run of posi 1/0

maybe i should do the same? by having 2 runs of 0 for the +

i don't have a high powered alternator so i don't know if it would be pointless or not, but its going to be pushing about 2200 RMS to a DD 9510 @ .5 ohm if the amp likes it

it would be pointless IMO

I'd make sure your Big 3 is done before you wire up that second battery, your stock alt is going to have a hard time charging two batteries anyway, without the Big 3 done your just going to make it harder and see less results. I have a Yellow Top in front and a kinetik 2400 in the rear, had the kinetik ground to the body in the rear as well as the big 3 done and didn't have any issues, so I thought. Once I added another run of 0 gauge from the front (-) to the rear battery (-) I noticed less voltage drop when the sub was hitting. So yeah, you could be cheap and use one run of 0 ga for your power and just ground both batts to the body, but you'll get more from your system with (+) and (-) runs from the front to the rear. For anyone that competes, you ever notice the real Street class cars? Notice how they run 8 or more runs of (+) and (-) from the front to the rear? There is a reason for this, and it's not just to waste money on wire. Of course that many in a daily driver is a bit much, but the reasons behind it still work.
