I don't think that anybody is saying that Sigs are on par with ANSCHÜTZ or other top tier target brands. They are really nice for a affordable off the shelf gun. The P6 trade in's are/were a really good deal. Some people feel they need 17 round clips if they have 9mm and won't like them. Since they single stack I think they only hold 8 or so. I am not sure what they go for now but you get a pretty clean one with night sites for $400. this on a year ago. My little brother picked one and it a nice gun.

OP are you opposed to buying a used gun? If you want to research some prices so when you go shopping you can know what they real value is. Prices can vary quite abit from dealer to dealer. Guns for Sale, Gun Classifieds, Gun Auctions, Shop for Guns at GunsAmerica is a site that licensed FFL holders advertise and sell their guns on. Discount Guns for Sale - Buds Gun Shop is gun shop that has some really good prices because they move enough inventor to use wholesale prices.

To purchase off the net. First go to a FFL license holder. If you know somebody they may give you a good deal, but pawn shops are usually have them. IF they sell guns they can take delivery of one in the mail. The usual cost is $25 for expecting delivery dealing with the paper work. Some cost more there is a place in OKC that only charges $10 and they see lots of business. So shop around. Once you find the one you are going to use, tell them that you want to buy X gun from X person on the internet. They or you will fax/email that person the pawn shops FFL number. You will pay person X and then have to pay sales tax +FFL fee. somethimes it is worth it sometimes it isn't. It helps if you can't find the gun with the options or finish that you want locally. Just giving you the option.

Just to point it out in very simple terms, so you can understand. I never said experts all use high end modified guns, I never even hinted to that. Also your off the shelf gun that has had aftermarket parts is no where even close to a fully hand built 1off hand gun. Also just because your talking out of your ***, 90% of the custom guns are less complicated then the off the shelf counterpart, especially if you start talking 1911's.

You like sig, cool so do I. They are still mid line though.

If I were to recommend a pistol that is accurate, reliable and priced reasonably id say the Springfield Armory XD9 or XD40. As for a rifle, im partial to the Ruger Mini 14 in .223. That also reminds me, another REALLY cheap pistol is a Ruger P89. You really cant get much more reliable than that and they are cheap. Too bad their ugly as hell.

dude get a hi point lol. bout 130 bucks at a pawn shop polish the ramp and bend the mag lips out and have fun, when u think your good enough shot, sell it or trade it in on a better gun. like (insert fanboys fav gun) and make sure u take care of it. or go to a gun show and get one hunt for deals though dont b afraid to walk away from a BS dealer you can get a sigma .40 on gun broker for 250 shipped. its what i have but i coulsnt walk always from the BS dealer so i payed 320 out the door. dont listen to gun ranges when they say dont buy cheap ammo for target practice. ill b damned if i shoot my PDX-1s at the range those are specifically for breathing targets

It maybe pretty close to the top in mass produced guns but they don't hold a candle to ANSCHÜTZ and Hammerli. These aren't carry guns but OP never mentioned interest in packing. He just wants to learn how to shoot. Not that I would recommend these top tier brands to a beginning shooter anyway. This thread was for people that have experience shooting so a guy could get an idea on were to begin with a new hobby he is wanting to get into. There is no need for name call

I did get it straight. The mags do only have a 8 round cap.SIG SAUER P225. I am not looking at the guns so I would rather let OP know that I am not 100%. It is safer to sound unsure than to call out unchecked data as fact.

Then you don't know what you are talking about. How can they be the best if you can't even stand to have a stock one. A customized anything is no long the orginal and shouldn't be compared to stock unless showing what improvements the mods made. So maybe your custom Sigs are the greatest shooting guns to ever exist.
