2k watts for subs in a 2k grand prix

ive kinda been away from CAF for a bit. sadly, im gonna be selling my truck. i dont want to downgrade my stereo though. right now i have 2k watts going to 4 phoenix gold 12s in a bed box tuned ~25hz

my new car will be a 2k grand prix. i already have a 2k watt mono audiobahn amp for the new setup *buying a new amp for my current system b4 selling it* and i just dont know what my BEST option is. should i try and cram 4 12s in? 2 15s? i was thinking to mag 15s or brahma 15s or *and yes you might thing im crazy* a couple audiobahn 15s *if i have a budget which shouldnt be a problem*

the budget ..... i dont really have one but theres no way im buying something for the look or name on it. any suggestions? ill have to build a box myself b/c i want ported, or get rangerman to hook me up.

just rambling, any ideas with this car and what i have so far?

Of your choices listed, I like the Brahma idea best. I dont know the space available in a gprix tho.

if you're running those at recommended ported sizes, good luck getting more than 1 15" into the trunk

i have a 99 grand prix, built a ported box for my 15" xxx, 4 cubes 32hz, and i cant get it in and out of the trunk without taking out the spare for space.. the box is just too big. if you do go for ported (i plan on doing another ported box eventually too), make SURE you can fit it in the trunk opening before building.

its not that the trunk doesnt have the space, it's that the opening doesnt have the space.

Ive had that problem before also, the trunk opening not being big enough to fit the box thru it. Luckily I recognized this ahead of time and built a mock-up box out of cardboard, it didnt fit. I remedied it by removing the back seat (temporarily) and placing the box in thru there. Its almost always a bigger opening.

My back seat opening was smaller than the trunk opening. (even if i take them completely out, the metal (firewall?) has a very low clearance.

yea i used to have a 97 gprix .... and i barely fit a box for 2 12s in there ..... but i enver tried taking the seat down/out

are there any gprix forums ... like s10forums by any chance lol. im gonna miss my s10 :S i need gprix pimpmobiles to cheer me up

The firewall is in the front of the car, the wall that the dash bolts to. Its called the firewall because its the protective barrier between the engine compartment and passenger compartment.

You could always assemble the box inside the trunk...

assembling the box inside the trunk is a HUUUUGE PAIN! Ive done it. take a few minutes and make sure the box will fit before building it with audioholic's mock-up cardboard box idea... ive done that as well.... and it saves a lot of time, money, and frustration.

My car is just like a GA (Beretta) and what i did is i took out the back seat and cut out any metal on the sides or top that will alow you to fit a bigger box inside it. I can now fit 6.5 cubes in my trunk easily compared to the 3.5 cubes threw the trunk opening.
