audiobahn 1206t = fart-tastic...

everyone.

so i feel like i need more power but i wanted

to know what more power would sound like...

the only place i could get subs with a return

policy was circuit city or best buy... circuit

city had more powerful stuff...

i walked out of there with 2 12" audiobahn

ghey flame chrome ghetto 1206t's... they

can apparently handle 1000watts RMS a piece...

since i cant even push that hard on my amp

i figured that these subs would show me

what i wanted to see...

i got them all hooked up... turned up the

gain since its set to practically 0 for my

12W3v2s... turned on my radio... drove around

my block... and boom boom... no more bass...

WTF!?!?! i pull the pieces of crap from my

trunk fully aggrivated that these stupid

things caused a problem... my clever

neighbor advised me to check the inline

fuse... i was blown... eek... at 8:30pm

not many places to get fuses besides

back at circuit city... i got stuck with 4 for

just under 8 bucks...

fine...

change the fuse and the farting begins...

i think those subs have one note... fart...

it did shake my trunk and make lots of

rattling noises along with the farting...

i hope this isnt what i could expect with

some RE SX's or something like that...

i ripped them out and had them back to

circuit city by 9.25pm...

yeah i was at circuit city 3 times between

6pm and 9.30 pm...

i now appreciate my 12w3v2s a lot more...

has anyone had similiar experiences with

bad powerful subs???

anyone have any experience with RE SX's???

Never again try to equate RE with Audiobahn, or you will be banished from the internet car audio forums.

But seriously, now you know why most people are completely against Audiobahn subs.

i never had any intention in keeping them bear in mind... the sales

rep shouldve figured that since i asked if i could return them twice

before i bought them...

i couldnt believe how bad it was... i just had to take them back

that day and get my card credited before it even hit...

i wasnt comparing the ABN's to RE's... just the power levels...

with all the rattling and stuff going on i know i dont want

to go that high anyways... once i recover from the cost of

the JL's ill probably go with some SX's or whatever i decide on

at that level of quality...

the IDMAX are too expensive... HOLY COW!!!

why are RE's [comparatively] so cheap???? even the XXX's arent

obscenely expensive...

ill sign the anti-audiobahn treaty... my old JBL's from three

years ago sounded better... a lot better....

i also tried my JLW3v2's in that bandpass box... yeah... bad idea...

IDMax cost about the same as the XXX (direct pricing), and since they targeted for the same market it's not really suprising. And the IDMax isn't Image Dynamic's only line......the have the ID series and IDQ series, both of which are high performers at lower price points.

The RE's are so cheap because you are getting them factory direct. No middle man (distributor) mark-up, no dealer markup, etc etc. Same thing for Adire, Incriminator Audio, Stereo Integrity, etc etc.............The MSRP (as if it was being sold through normal distribution channels) on the 12" XXX is $659, and the 15" XXX is $699 (IIRC).....

i also tried my JLW3v2's in that bandpass box... yeah... bad idea...
Told you so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i just have a habit of needing to get run over

by a train in order to catch on to the stupidest

things...

ie... i needed to take my box out... take the speakers

out of the box.... put the subs in the other box

drag the 129lbs of bandpass goodness [not] and

try to jam it into my trunk... drive around the block

realize that there is NO BASS ANYMORE... just bassy

kinda poops every one in a while...

and then put it all back the way it was only to learn

what you and others have tried to tell me all along...

ugh... and my fingers are all cut up now...

and i noticed that i didnt turn the gain back down

enough from the audiobahn settings... my W3's are

screaming NO NO NO!!!! ill have to adjust that...

i learned that lesson finally...

i might have someone buying my old stuff that i was

going to give to my gf... so i may end up getting other

subs sooner than later... thats cool anyways... my

gf will have a **** nice setup...

holy crap on that $$$ for the XXX 15"... fortunately

i do not require that amount of power... and i dont

really think a 15" would be any help to me... i listened

to just one of my W3's and it sounded nice... but

once you add the 2nd one... its just another realm

of sound... i think id be lost with only one sub back there...

anyone know how long it takes RE to answer a

sales inquiry email... ???

squeak... it sounds like a perfect circle has not only a new cd, but a

dvd/cd combo coming out soon...

i am only assuming you like APC...

anyone know how long it takes RE to answer a

sales inquiry email... ???

1 or 2 weeks (seriously). It'd be much faster for you to call them.

Yeah, I love anything that Maynard is a part of //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif From what I read in a music mag a few months back while cruising through walmart, Tool is supposed to have a new CD out around the end of this year :boobies: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

holy sh1te!?!??!? WTF!?!??!

one to two weeks to respond to an email?!?!??!!

thats freaky when you are considering spending like

500.00 and the company doesnt exactly seem

responsive...

well, all these people had to have gotten their somewhere...

i dont have the $$$ right exactly at this moment anyhow...

but jeez!!!!

ill call when i actually am ready i guess... thanks for the tip...

ive seen APC three times live... only from mer de noms though...

i missed the 13th step show... im a bigger APC fan than a tool

fan... i find tool kinda hard to listen to... not that im against

music that is more difficult... i LOVE radiohead... and i dont

exactly consider them poppy or aurally friendly... just something

about tool... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

ive never been in a car with a 15" in it... i really dont know... after my

experiment with the audiobahns i dont exactly feel like "trying one out"

i did think about just getting one 15"... but would that be more for SPL or SQ...

i dont want all my music to sound all farty and sh1te...

i was thinking of just getting the one SX for starters in the 12" size

and then deciding if i need the second...

i dont really wanna get a 15" to start in case i dont like it... plus i dont

want 2 15"s

if i did decide to just get one 15" i would probably go for the XXX... but i

dont know...

its not fair that theres no way to hear this stuff before you sink your

$$$ into it...

Depends on the box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif The box used is what determines the "sound" of the sub, not the diameter of the sub.

Also, half of the problem is that you are so stuck on that Audiobahn experience. There is a reason why Audiobahn's subs get beat down on these forums, and you just experienced it. Don't base the sound of any other sub off of your listening experience with the Audiobahn, cause not many subs sound that bad.

Oh, and about the waiting period for a response from RE........they claim that they get around 100 e-mails a day, and 250-300 on the weekends (because of the couple of days of not checking it). So yeah, it will take them a little while to get back with you via e-mail.

the audiobombs of poop were actually 12 inches of pure garbage... my

friends and i went for a ride with them in... they agreed the subs were

only suitable for using as portable toilets...

RE think they are sssssssooooooooooooooooo popular... : )

ive gotta hear these **** things...
