2ch Amps

I got a Boston GT-28 for sale... awesome 2 ch power 250x2 @ 4, 450 x 2 @ 2, 900 x 1 @ 4, 1250 x 1 @ 2. A bit more for cost than the other boston but id take this one any day myself. Actually come to think of it, why am i selling this amp again? hmm.
These are the better built ones.

They were in the same build house as some mosconi and audio system stuff

Has anybody clamp tested them? any gut shots? I'm always up for trying new brands.
That's why I'm trying to get trumpet to answer since he has more personal experience with these. As far as I understand, the Phantom 4-channel does a little more than rated with ease, so I'd imagine the 2-channel does as well.

I've heard mixed things about the new SS REFs. Some are saying it's a good sign of them getting back to who they used to be, others saying more of the same junk. I'd really like to see them pull out all the stops and put out another HRU or DaVinci line and do it right.

I know for sure this is one hell of an amp,I used to own 3 of these.I really loved the Davinci series, but could never afford it,BA amps for sure.SStream have always been pretty much top notch on theyre upper version amps, yet this old school 500, is a real powerhouse, along with quality of some great SQ as well..GREAT AMP!I believe they were around $499.99 new

Yes! The OG Soundstream Refs were the way to go. Though I'm not sure that guy posting the sale has ever sold an amp before. No listed specs, only two shots and they're both of the casing and not the terminals. At least he mentioned testing it, I'll give him that.

Anywho, TIK, if you happen to stumble across the PPI Phantoms and the SS Tarantula Nanos, keep in mind they're basically the same amp with different casings and slightly different power specs, but both are geared around being small form-factor class D amps. Not as small as the Massive Nano Bits, but still pretty impressive.

The PPI Phantom P600.2 is almost always out of stock when I call to order. I actually have yet to see one because of that. I love the Phantom amps, people who buy them recommend them to others, and the music sounds great with them. I don't know of any other current amplifier that puts out so much power for the price in such a small chassis.

Soundstream TN2.600D is the same board inside as PPI P600.2. Onlinecarstereo.com has them. Also Polk Audio Class D amplifiers use the same (Nakamachi) board design, although the individual internal components are different. The Polk amps have pretty much the same watt output as PPI/SS, even though the 2-channel Polk D2000.2 is rated slightly lower. I saw a test of avtozvuk.com showing 2x150watt output at 4ohm with 12.5 voltage, so it should be same as PPI and SS with 14.4V. I don't how how these compare with the more "noble" brands like Boston Acoustics for pure SQ material, but these class D amps have amazing price/performance, size, great for subwoofers or power-hungry speakers.

Good to know. Just wish Polk would stop with the boring black box concept. They've had it since the premium line. Is it too much to ask for a little more style?
