2amps @ 1ohm worse than 1 large amp @ 2ohm?

Im trying to figure out what kind of amp setup i am going to have for two 18" RE SX's. Im not quite sure which direction i want to go yet, but here are the options, and i want to get some opinions.

- two Hifonics BXi1606d's, each set at around 1200RMS @ 1ohm

-a single amp that does around 2500-3000RMS @ 2 ohms

Either one can be done, but i am curious as to how each of these will effect my electrical. Would the two amps have more draw then the single bigass amp?

bumpity. It would prolly be cheaper for me to get, lets say, two Hifonics BXI1606's and have each of them to their own sub rather than a ZX2500.1, and cheaper by about $150

Either setup is going to present a serious load on the electrical. Pretty much impossible to say which will draw more. The Kicker amp will probably be more reliable.

effecient, and does more than rated power. i dont trust the hifonics, at least not those particular hifonics. you usually gain more effeciency by running at higher loads.

First you have to find an amp that can run @ 0.5 ohm. Then you have to afford it. Then you have to find a way to keep it cool. 0.5 ohms is going to be less efficient than running at a higher load.
