280$ good for new alternator?(200a)

Wuts up, I have a friend that builds Alternators and he is asking 280$ for a 200 amp alternator (built to fit my car) with shipping already included, I havn't asked around about alts. that much so i'm not sure if it is a good deal. Is it a good price?

Yeah, **** good price if u ask me. as long as you know it's a good quality alternator, and check the warranty also. I got my 200amp HO alternator for $340...so i'd say that's a great price. also, not sure where you checked...but look at http://www.excessiveamperage.com

Heh, the guy who's building my alternator runs http://www.excessiveamperage.com. I havn't checked on warranty info., but i'm not to concerned i'm sure it's sufficiant. So I guess it's a pretty good deal then? Thanks for the feedback.

yea im gonna have to agree and say that i feel that $280 is a good deal for a 200a Alt... i kno i paid something like $340 w/ installation for mine 220a...and mine wasnt even brand new...LoL...it was rebuilt...but it defently gets the job done so i have no complaints...

i paid $399 for mine and that was sending mine in to be built. sucks to have a lexus when it comes to parts.
