whats wrong with it ? i keep getting the same numbers 36.248 length and 2.34 ft^3 ?

entering my calc like this (ti83)

Lv= (96*1.84x18^8)/ (8 * 1728 * ((27/.159)^2))= 44.3120 - (.823 * sqrt(96)) =

36.2483511 up to 36.25

where is the 19.75 coming from ?

i get 4.75 x 35.5 which is the lenth i get from the formula x 24 inch tall port height is there something i missing cuase i turned it ?

i don't understand if i measure down th center of the port to 17 inches deep make the at 17 inchs which is 4 inchs off the back wall and the other port wall is inside the first it is still 4 inches off the back wall right ?

i think i misunderstanding wjat you saying the way i understand it is that you start with 4ichs to keep the port area right it has to be 4 inches at the turn so that any where along that port the measurment is 4 inchs outside wall to port wall
