240sx...maybe a project car

Well, me and my buddies are LOVE to drift. We do it all the time. My person best is a 270 with my jeep. Our friend has a 240sx and that thing is just... amazing..built to drift.. So my buddy and I decided we wanted to get one for around 1g,and make it a drifting car. What kind of upgrades could we do to it? I know put an sr20 in there, and lower it, but what else?

before u drop a SR20 in it, get an LSD(limitedslip), and lower it and get strut bars, intake catback exhaust ect.. no need for a new motor yet tell u mess up the stock one. Trust me, they have plenty of power stock to drift

trust me,I know. I have yet to pull a 360 in one, but I did pull a 270 in my jeep that is a POS,and my few drifts w/ the 240 were NICE, so the extra hp wont hurt me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i did my first 360 last night and didn't even use the E-brake, just drop the clutch in 2nd in a big parking lot and stop on it and it will shoot around

Im talking about pulling a 360 WITH complete control. I mean if I wanted to, I could just throw out the back easy, I mean come on its a 240.. but I'm talking about those long-ass 360's where the driver can completely see what is going on, true drifts, drifts with control. I mean my friend can pull a drift in his bronco-does he drift-yea, is it clean and does he have control-no, he crashed into the sidewalk when the tires caught.

Im not saying im some pro,just that its easy to make a car drift, but control is what seperates us, from the pro's.

id be scared to do that with a jeep. crazy tyler. I think the most important thing to do is suspension and wheels. Get lightweight wheels, and gut the car from anything not needed. backseat, spare, AC, etc. Id do that before messing with the motor.

Yeah one of my best buds has a 240 and i see what it is cabale of stock. He has alot of control in it but sometimes it can over steer and spin out. All you are looking for is low end torque! Thats all its about. If you notice in D1 and Option videos alot of the cars have some what of a hatch look to them,reasoning for that would be its easy to wip the back end around. Think about it rx-7, supra,240,silvia and treunos ect. Well i'm not gonna get off topic too much.. but DBHITTIN is right about the LSD i would have to agree. Also just get some small mods to add some horse power. My buddy just replaced his clutch and trust me that makes a hell of alot of difference to his abilities with his car. So either replace the stock one which is about 800 dollars or throw in a stage 2. Who knows what your budget is like but i suggest a new clutch and throttle with some other smaller things to kick in your increase in HP. I hope that gives u some ideas.
