240 or 275 amp alternator

I am needing to purchase a new alternator soon. What my question is is if I should get the 240 or 275 to power 2 bc2000's strapped. I only have 1 now but want to upgrade. Also have a 400 × 4 watt jbl for mids and highs and 1 kinetic hc2000 in trunk. The reason I'm asking this question is that I want to know if the 275 is as dependable as the 240 or vice versa. This is my daily driver and I love my system but need my vehicle also... I do know that I'm going with singer so that's decided.

ive read that higher alts can/will cause belt slippage. i think it was a mech man alt thread i read a while ago??

i realize the magnetic field gets stronger with more output, which leads to more resistance on crankshaft

any input on that? Any rule of thumb before potential belt slippage??

It's a 01 civic. I want to get the 275 but I talked to someone at singer maybe mike he says 240 is enough for 1 bc2000 but I would have to get another battery if I got 2. Problem is batteries are expensive!!! Lol

you can get 55ah AGM batts off a guy who sells them here for $90 ea

My Singer 275 supported my SAZ 3500D, a Crescendo 5500, and an Ampere 5000 very well (obviously installed at different times). I had 3 supporting batteries BTW. The Singer did a great job of keeping everything happy. Idle voltage was pretty brutal with the 5ks. But 1500-2k RPM was no issue at all. Middle to high 13s all day.
