218 DEeeEBeeeezzzz WOW!!!

I'm sorry man, but those cars are the most ridiculous things i've ever seen. The ride has to be like riding in a golf cart over speed bumps. Hideous, absolutely hideous.

Honestly, whats the point. You can't turn, you can't hit any potholes or bumps in the road, and it looks like your driving a jacked up truck. You could proabably drive over a log and not even hit the bottom of the car.

I'm sorry, but seriously, WTF.

my friend has those rims on his gmc pickup
See, thats a truck. I can see them on a truck(somewhat, i still think anything over 22" is kinda dumb). But on an 80's cutlass? You see how jacked up it has to be to fit them?

All too often do i see cars where they have a beat up rusty body, with 24"s and knock-off gucci fabric covering the interior. It's just obscene. They spend $15,000 on rims and $1000 on the car.

I agree, I'm all for Big boy rims, but when you have to raise the car to put them on there, to me thats Gay, unless you are 4Wheelin and Mud Boggin.... Otherwise, I prefer a drop, not a raise... Only thing I wanna raise is my SPL score or my pay!!!

I figured I'd get those responses. Oh well, to each his own I guess.
I know thats your thing man, and your entitled to your opinion. Hell, you probably don't like things on my truck that i like. It's all just personal preference. Speak your opinion, i do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's a big difference. 58 db is equivalent to roughly 19 times louder. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
umm, doesn't dBs work like 10 dBs is 10 times louder and 20 is 100 times louder 30 - 1000 times and so on?

I've always been taught that it's a logarithmic base 10 scale

Early acousticians came up with a simple method of comparing two sounds. A sound that was perceived to be twice as loud as another sound was said to be one Bel greater in sound level. The Bel was used as a unit of COMPARISON, not a unit of measure. Its namesake was Alexander Graham Bell, a pioneer in the science of audiology (the study of human hearing). It soon became apparent that this unit of comparison was not very accurate in describing the difference between two sounds very similar in level. A smaller unit of comparison, the decibel, was established. One decibel is defined as being equal to one-tenth of a Bel; the prefix "deci-" is a French derivative that means "one-tenth", as in decimal, etc. Since a decibel is one tenth of a Bel, then 10 decibels would equal one Bel. In other words, a sound that is twice as loud as another sound could be described as being 10 decibels or (10 dB) louder. By definition, one decibel (or 1 dB) represents the smallest change in sound level that the human ear can perceive.

The point is it's a show car. Not quite my style, but I love fixed up wagons just because 1) they are unique and 2) its hard to make them look really good. He doesn't get many points for #2, being that the car overall just isn't my style, but as a show car, it does look good. Probably not much if any at all went into the car by his own hands, but alot of work went into that car's paint job, install, and just the car overall, so there is alot to appreciate there even if it isn't the best looking thing out there. Overall I gotta give it an 8 out of 10 just for effort alone. If it just looked like it did sans the nice paint job and all the work that went into the install, it would only get a 3.5 out of 10.

It does increase at an exponential rate 3db is the increase "percieved" by the human ear as twice as loud . Point being though it looks to be a street car, not a unlimited db car. Look at the numbers those guys are putting up and having problems with pressure escaping. What's that kind of pressure going to do to a street car with regular glass windows ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's understood, I was ready for it anyways. I think it's just the fact that it actually takes work to get the wheels on there. Just like putting bags on a truck, or installing a LT-1 in an old school car.

A while back someone put a chart on here with the DB's and how many times louder it was. You could probably search and find it.

The wagon ain't bad. I was referring to the 26"s on 80's cutlasses, montes, etc. I agree with you, fixed up wagons are cool. I would love to have a late 60's, early 70's chevelle station wagon. Mmmmm, i could just see the big block in there.
