2011 Dodge Challenger Build

Beautiful car!! I like the stripe. I'm driving an SRT4 caliber. Pretty fun, fast and decent fuel. Watch those hid headlights. They can melt the head lamp housing.. And remote start I thought I saw you posted, I'd strongly recommend factory. No wire cutting, fail rate is very low. Just seen a lot of after market remote starts just junk!

Oops, forgot to update this:

Okay, here's some updates. Worked on the car now that I'm on a 4 day vacation. Unfortunately I hit a bump on my first day. (I've never used sound deadener, so it's my first time, so please don't troll on my door work) But we took the door panels off with no problem, got the deadener on...ran into a problem getting the panels back on. The metal rod going across to the door handle...wouldn't go back into the hole, If you look closely it has a plastic piece. It took us 2 hours to get them back in. Yeah..I was short of tools...thumbs are pretty much torn apart.

Ended up taking the rubber thing off my door because it was preventing the plastic threads from locking into the door.

That's all for day 1. Got two more to go, Tomorrow I'll be getting the box made, designed by PWK designs. As well as pods for the sundown 6.5 cs speakers for the front and back. I'm also going to try to tackle doing the big 3 upgrade and getting the fake wall up. Here's all the equipment waiting to be put into my car.

I forgot to put my subs in the picture. Whoops.

Here's the box design:

Did the trunk panels

Couldn't make rings for the new 6.5s, and they wouldn't fit on the metal right (One side would be exposed to no metal while the other side wouldn't be) So I tore the old mid speakers down and cut off the frame and used the old template.

Mounted the tweeters on the back carpet.

Made mounts for the 6.5s for the front door, worked out perfect...had some troubles putting the driver side door on though.

Yes I put deadener around the mounting.

Here's the update on the box.. It was raining most of the day, didn't have much time to cut the pieces. But I got them cut and started putting it together. The crap you see all over the box is wood filler, it will be sanded down before I put the second port in

Well box is done, just need to cut the sub holes out.

I always seem to screw something up...if you can't tell. The bottom half of the port is off by 1/8".... fml lol.

Got the subs in the box and tested them; they sound amazingly nice.

Soldered the wires:

Running them at 2 ohms, gotta parallel them:

Soldering two wires together

After a bit of clamping the solder down, got them to fit perfectly into the terminals:

One thing I love about sundown is that their terminals move sideways. Very convenient when your sub hole is a bit on the tight side:

Back side view, I will be sealing those holes with silicone, inside and out, unless someone has a better idea (please let me know)

Looks perfect to me, just got to carpet the front and put it in my car:

Okay, got a few things done today. I got the back trim made, All I have to do is mount it down and seal it off. I ran into some problems sealing off the subs from the trunk, so I did a lazy route and put deadener all around it. Going to fiberglass, bondo and paint it white later, after I make sure everything sounds good and all. I also wired the batteries. Yes, I know I will be getting rid of some of that extra wire later...way to much wiring lol; had some bad experiences with not having enough wiring. Need to buy 2 fuses for the battery to amp. But so far it's looking good, the batteries are running at 13.8v on a stock alternator. Down the road, I will be getting a singer alternator. Yesterday, I made the false floor. Turned out pretty good, just has to be bolted down.

Okay, I got lazy, I didn't feel like doing the back trim, plus I ran out of room so I did a little changing in my plan. I just need two more things. A longer RCA cable and waiting for my add-a-circuit (for remote wire) to come in the mail.
