2010 Ford Taurus SHO to start at $37,995!

I stand corrected, glad I bought a ford now lol.
I think it interesting enough to note that Mercury was #2 in that list. I couldn't see myself driving any Mercury though. Don't care for the styling.

Lexus was #1 for 14th year in a row though! and Toyotas main lines are never far behind in that list.

I don't understand how Mercury was ahead of Ford. Mercury is basically Ford rebadged with a couple more gadgets. Still same platform and drivetrain.

Thats why I find it interesting. More QC? tighter tolerances? Doesn't contain the econo lines? I could think of variables or possible variables, but have no answer. I am just as curious.

The only car that could be dragging Ford down would be the Focus. I'm sure Ford's F-series trucks aren't hurting them.

That's more or less what I would think. The focus drags them down. I wouldn't think that much, but it is the only real difference and tolerances on that line more than likely aren't as tight as the other lines. I'm sure the F150 comes in on the same average of the rest of the lineup.

What about fusion? Does merc do one of those? NM I imagine that is a milan.

Merc doesn't have a mustang either. So thats another possible contributor.

The Fusion is the Mercury Milan. The Focus scored about average in reliability ratings. I don't believe Mercury makes crossovers either but they still use the 3.5L powertrain.

The problems per 100 stat isn't exclusive to drive train only. They include minor problems like brake noise, left/right pull, excess wind noise, etc.

But still the amount of difference between Merc and Ford seems off and I can only attribute it to Ford having more models and their respect tolerances in build.

Also you said Focus cored average. Ford overall is above average, so if you take the well above average rating for the models in which Merc shares and add the average score of the focus lines, you could easily see that Ford overall rating is more understandable then if they sell a considerable amount more of focus lines to their top lines.

dont you drive a cavalier?
No, a Focus ST, remember the one that flys past you just looking a little better than your ugly POS. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Note, looks a little better. Personally nothing special about my car. But I find it funny you talk about a 37,000 dollar car looking like shit and not selling when it will.

Granted the Fit sells well........so does the Focus and they are both are ugly, just yours takes the cake. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Don't put me on ignore.......haha!

looks cool. i would drive it. and to dog it just because it is a ford is ignorant. most ford/chevy/dodge etc cars are a crapshoot on which is better.... now a days anyway. they have all raised standards to the point that average people cannot tell much of a difference other than how the style fits you and how the car feels when you drive it. i know im not gonna change anyones mind so im not gonna try either. kthxbye
