Why on earth does luxury have to = tank with american car companies? I hate this big huge bulky car shit style they've got going.

Luxury = comfort. Not everyone can be comfortable in a compact car or sports car. That would be why they also have the sport luxury and compact luxury subcategory.

and just to be crystal clear on the matter, the Taurus has never been marketed as a luxury car. It has always been a family sedan, if you want to consider this to be a luxury sedan then you can certainly do so (and from the looks I think that might be somewhat fitting). But I think they are still going to be marteking it as a versatile family sedan that can play many roles, being comfortable and luxurious being one of them.

If you want to see the luxury version of this, look to the lincoln line of cars to get the Taurus's sibling in a few years.

I don't understand how Mercury was ahead of Ford. Mercury is basically Ford rebadged with a couple more gadgets. Still same platform and drivetrain.

Mercury's market is the 40+ year old white people that don't drive their cars hard.

That must be a very recent change. I have always like the exterior styling of the Mustangs that were produced after they went back to a more retro look. However, I have only been inside one and was struck by how cheap the interior was. That car would have been produced at least two years ago, so maybe they changed it since. They dam sure needed to.

I was refering to the 2010 mustang that is coming out.. Definately improved interior, and better materials. That center console is brushed aluminum..

From what I can tell it looks good. I am really glad they will be using an interior that is worthy of the exterior styling.

But you can get a better deal on the front end, so the resale is usually a wash and a shitty gauge to choose cars. No matter what you do, they all lose value(well except collector or exotic maybe). Some may hold a little better but in the end still lose. Choosing a car that is right for you is much more rewarding than one that may net you a 1k advantage 4 years later.

Note, this isn't to say that you didn't choose the car that best suits you, just my thoughts on resell value concerning something that in the end is a liability and not an investment.

Yes you do need to go to bed, because I didn't debate that fact you fucking moron. I said I don't find it to be a priority when choosing a car because they all lose value anyway and the difference isn't enough for me to choose a car I don't want to drive.

I bought my 94 Saturn in May of 2007 for $1200. I have had to make zero repairs in that time and can easily sell it for $800. I guarantee you have lost more then $400 in your Honda. I choose to invest in appreciable assets. If saying you'll loose less money with car A vs. car B makes you sleep at night, so be it.

The car isn't manufactured in a single plant. Nissan most likely has suppliers in Asia vs. the Big 3 who have many suppliers in the US. The Big 3 supports way more jobs in the US then any Asian company.

I don't know about the other lines, but many parts are from the local area on the Altima line. I am sure electronic parts are from Asia...but large/bulky items are made by local places.

Turbo + Aftermarket = win.

I see the SHO as a semi-sleeper. It doesn't REALLY look like much at all, it's what's underneath that counts.

And to the guy who posted he'd rather have a Mustang for the money, yeah, you can get a GT for under 37, but this has more power, better interior, and two things that the Mustang has never had from the factory and will never have: IRS and AWD.
