200A current draw - How big should my fuse be?

I just got a 2400d and it says it pulls 200A. How big does my inline fuse need to be? I have a 120A for my bp1200.1 right now but Im thinking thats too small for this amp. Any suggestions? I tried searching but I couldnt find anything.

I have 4 gauge which is what it says it requires. It also says from the BAT to the Fuse Block should be 0 gauge but Im just gonna use 4 for that too.

listen to moe and jntar..upgrade your wire ...if u dont want to use 0awg..use atleast 2awg..so u wont burn your wire as quick...slap a 300amp fuse or circut breaker in there if u can

You actually don't need that big of a fuse, really. I have had two nine.1's at .5 ohm each on a 150 amp ANL fuse. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's amazing how much ACTUAL current gets drawn compared to what they are rated for. I bet you could easily get away with a 150-200 amp ANL fuse.

The amp says it only requiires 4 gauge ran the whole way? Or 4 gauge into the amp?

it says Bat to fuse box should be 0 gauge then from the fuse block to the amp should be 4guage and the ground should be 4 gauge

Does it not have two pwr and grnd terminals?

they assume your distro will be close to your amp. 4 gauge can carry that current over short distances. Besides can you alt even support a 200 amp load? i assume you have another amp AND the other elec accesories on your car. (elec fans, lights, vent blower,.....)

You would need a 300A+ alt to have it done right.

I would just run a 150A fuse on your 4 gauge, and if you have problems with blowing fuses, then upgrade the wire.

Yea I have a stock alt. And its a Dodge Neon so I thinking its less than a 100A alt. So its gonna blow up then? haha Im thinking I should just resell this cause I got it for dirt cheap but I dunno.
