2009 Pontiac G8 Install Question

Hey all,

Let me preface this by saying, I've never used line output converters or anything, I've always used a deck.

09 G8 GT- Not possible. Here's what I have..

JL 10W6

Alpine PDX600.1

MTX reQ

The wires go into my stock amp from the stock 8'' subs, in the back. Theres a + and - on both sides. The reQ is wired into one of the subs (Left Maybe) and it just didnt do it for me. It wasn't loud at all, there was no bump..I was thinking of selling it and a friend wanted to hear it. It was hooked up to an Eclipse XA1000, pioneer deck..WOW. The thing slammed..it was loud and so clear.

Granted he has a pioneer indash..I have a stock blaupunkt radio. I unhooked it all, and tried tinkering with it, the settings on the reQ, the settings on the amp, I unwired the reQ, and now its not doing anything. It's weird. The amp turns on (remote comes from req) but theres no bass. When I unhook the REQ, the sub does make a pop sound. Doesnt sound bad or anything.

Does anyone have an idea? Or experience with this car? I have had people tell me that the reQ is not needed for the install I want to do, that a 20.00 LOC will do it for me. What do you guys think?
