2006 Jetta Stock vs. Alpine CDA-9851

Alright I just got a 2006 Jetta with the stock 6 disk cd changer. I have the radio out of my truck which is an Alpine CDA-9851 and I'm also going to install my Phoenix Gold Xenon 1200.1 amp and Phoenix Gold Titanium Elite sub. What are the disadvantages of the stock radio over the Alpine if any? Only reason I'm considering not putting it in is because of the stock is a 6 disk in dash changer. What are everyones opinions?

you wont see huge improvements with the setup you are going to be running, but in the long run if you upgrade the other speakers and put an amp on them, i would use an aftermarket deck.

Well I was looking at getting a set of Rainbow SLC's and hooking them up to an amp in the next month or so, so that would almost automatically suggest putting in my head unit. Another idea I've had is wanting to put an indash touchscreen in instead. How cheap can they be had for now? I figure you should be able to get a pretty decent one for 300-500 now since they've been out for so long, there has to be left over stock of older versions that would do perfectly well for me.
