2005 Silverado 3.5mm install fail

I have a 2005 Silverado with a Bose Stereo system that includes XM and OnStar.

Original intent was to install an iPod port through the XM function of my stereo using a method found on a different site.

My first mistake was just cutting the wires about 1/4" from the wiring harness. This cut all power to my stereo, but then I figured out how to remove the wiring harness so at least that is done.

So right now I have no power to my stereo and I cannot find any info on how to reassemble my wiring harness in a working order.

I am also trying to use a 3.5mm jack i purchased at radio shack that has 5 prongs instead of 3, but don't know if that is possible from this harness.

Any help would be graciously accepted.

Never cut factory wire harness! don't cut anymore of them. rewire it back like it was use soder and heat shrink

what it looks like you did was disable your factory amp and that will in no way help you plug in your ipod.

best bet is to get a aftermarket head unit that works with ipod.
