Hey yall I just figured I would create a build log of my truck as well as a complaint log over my previous installers all in one. I didnt realise how shotty of a job they did untill I got down to my bare medal and I wanted yalls opinion.

1st is my air vents that are on the floor of the truck just in front of the power cables for the powered driver seat, this is a picture of how it should be

This is how mine looks.

Here is how some of my grounds were.

Can someone tell me if this is right how they did this or if this is just a shotty job?

Instead of using a distribution block for my truck they did this:

Instead of proper length cable they did this:

I want to reiterate im the jackass that gave them the truck 6 months old and asked for their top install and this is what I got, I will have more pictures of my build as I go forward with it. I am about to start Raammatting the truck.

Im not sure if were allowed to name drop in here but if not then mod please delete but it was Hyper Audio in Katy Texas. I posted a review of them in the reviews section, and to say the least I wasnt impressed with anything else they did to the truck including sub box or speaker installation.

the screwing through the ring terminal is ok.

I do that on some installs to secure the ground, but i also run a screw through the hole, then the secondary screw holds it in place.

The tape with no dist block is horrible!

also splicing the speaker wire is ok, but if they were going to drop the wires I don't know why they cut them too short in the first place lol

did you untape it and see what they did?

If u do it right you shouldn't have to use 2 screws...

tape is so so, i would have secured it with zipties as to make sure it doesn't unravel under heat. But would have rather chosen distros

And splicing, why not just heatshrink them, looks cleaner, and holds better.

you have the right to complain.

if u dont mind us asking, how much did u spend and what was included

I spent 500 for wiring and install. It would of been more but I agreed to pay cash. The install all it was was put everything in. I paid earlier for the sub box. He even told me the higher price was for their higher install which included top of the line wire, and speaker cable.

They put in 2 10 w3v2 subs, and mb quart components up front, and some fill speakers in the back. Alpine CDA-7995, and a memphis st-1000d amp, and a memphis 3004 amp. Everything in this paragraph I had purchased prior to install.

After taking out the wiring they used Memphis RCA's, 4 gauge wiring to the sunb amp (monster) and 8 gauge to my door amp (hugfen).

Further review I had another ground on the other side of my truck again on a painted metal part. Awesome.

I thought I had some ground to complain (no pun intended) but I wasnt sure if this was normal how alot of this was, especially cutting out the plastic to my a/c vent for the rear of the truck, and not clearing with me at all. Then just scotch taping it back up. Im pretty upset about that. Ill post up pics of the door speaker install in a sec, youll love this.

ur totally wrong man....Taping wires instead of using a distro block=fire.

Well they spliced, which is ok, but why didnt they just cut the wire to length.

Cutting into ur ac without asking, is so wrong and illegal.

The ground is not ok if they didnt sand away the paint but i dont see a problem with double screws, but properly installed, they shouldnt need to do that.

i would def take it back and demand either full refund or they fix there mistakes.

if they dont, i would def get intouch wiht BBB

I was 16, and I figured since I got a new truck I better let a "pro" install it for me. This is the result, and I honestly would not of known this unless I took my truck apart like im doing right now.

Do yall think I have a valid argument to get them to replace my ac piping on the floor of the truck at their expense? It was about 4-5 years ago, and they never asked me if they can just cut off my ac pipe. What do yall think. I want to see what options I have before I go over there and raise hell tomorrow evening.

the double screws is to keep the ground from twisting.

If you just use 1 screw through the hole in the terminal it is still able to twist...2 screws = no twisting and no loosening up

the tape i'd raise hell over

most shops don't use shrink wrap...and whats the difference in shrink wrapping and using crimp caps? at least the caps is wire to wire with a piece of metal holding them together.

what i want to know is that yellow wire used as speaker wire? is it flat flat? looks like something i'd be interested in for my install since i run my speaker wires in the center point of my carpet.
