I've finally decided to upgrade my Altima stereo. When

I first got the car I fell in love with the steering wheel controls,

so I kept my stock stereo and tried to make it louder.

Now I'm over that ****.

I put PAC speaker level to RCA adapters on and ran a few

crappy amps and 2 10" Bazooka subs. It has been less

than stellar for the last 2 years, but way louder than stock.

Up front I've got some clarion components, and clarion

6x9 coax's in back.

Here is the car as it sits NOW

Here is the 2 cubic foot box that my Bazooka 10's are in. I plan

to saw out the holes and drop in 2 dayton HO 12" moofers.

I finally got off my butt and picked up a double din fit kit.

I had convinced myself that I needed to wait until I could

by a Kenwood 8120. Then after I joined the forum I

realized that a lot of people like the stuff in my garage

that I was turning my nose up to. (because I could not control

it off the steering wheel)

Here is the plan:

1) Drop in the Alpine and Kenwood HU/eq.

$80 for install, but I cant find the single din trim

rings //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

2) Buy two 12" Dayton HO's saw out the holes

and put them in the 2 cubic ft box. Run off the

crunch at 125W rms x 2

$280

3) Buy an AQ2200d or similar 1300-1500W@2 ohm, replace the crunch;

remove the 6x9's to let the bass in. I like the AQ because in the future

I could run 1 ohm with some other woofers if I'm looking for a change.

$390

4) Buy the Alpine type X pro's 6.5" or similar, run off the crunch,

or active on the hifonics or some combo of the 2 amps. May need to buy

an external crossover.

$350

5) Buy Sundown SAX 100.2 to run the Alpine type X pro 6.5's, maybe active

with another hifonics vulcan 50w x 2 series vii amp I've got.

$200 used

6) Maybe build a ported box for the Daytons. 3.2 Cubes at 26Hz

$100

I do not have the cash all at once, so this will take me a while.

I will post pics of the install as it progresses.

I got the Head unit and EQ in. I'll post picks

later tomorrow. It sounds way better, except

I have some light alternator whine and a loud

"POPphssT" when when I power off the HU.

I think new RCA's are in order for the whine,

gotta figure out what the heck's going on with

the pop.

nicee 3.5 5 speed. sounds like a good plan
Thanks, and thank you too Mr. C!

The doors actually do not look that bad, they are pretty well sealed

already.

Went ahead bought 2 damplifier pro door packs.

Tim went built me some new rings, we threw some PE speaker tape

on each side.

Cut holes in the a-pillars for the SEAS 27 fabric tweeters

Batcap 2000 and 1/0 run installed, I know, the Power distro is hooked up

wrong, it's only temporary. More to come.

Also, dropped the 9842 and Kenwood EQ; went with an 9855 for the active crossover.

Well I purchased a pair of RE SE 12's and the 4 cubes at 30Hz box is built. I just purchased my last amp for the build, an Audison Lrx 300.4 for the mids.

I think I'm going to set the Xovers on the amps as a safeguard in case the 9855 loses power.

Here is the plan (sorry it's so small):

Got it up and running today. May get metered on an AC tomorrow.

That's a deflex pad and eggcrate foam and internal deadening in each door.

A-pillars are deadened too.

I need to go back to stock springs in the rear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'm only running about 2000rms. It's holding 13.59-13.79v no matter how hard I've pushed it.

With the car off it sits at 12.6v.

I almost blew up my **** trying to burp it (newb-ass).

I'm never doing that **** again. My score ******

so bad i will not mention it.

Part of the reason I saw later was that others where

burping with no Highs at all, while I just cranked the whole

thing with "Put-on". I must not know what loud is because

honestly it hurt too bad and I could not take it, so I shut it

down real quick.

My stupidass has know idea what song to use, my car's peak

frequency or how to turn up just the bass off the HU.

I will say I'm getting insane trunk flex.

I'm just happy my **** survived. I'm never doing that again.

looking at the trunk lid............where's the deadening?
There is none on the trunk lid, there is some, but not a lot

on the rear deck (where the 6x9's are removed). I'll buy a trunk

pack some day:)
