I already have a 450watt jl amp running 4 speakers and a 10inch sub... I might want to install another amp just for the sub and run the speakers bridged... sooo Ill be looking at a total of 450w + 300w(sub amp) 750watt system

Can my stock alt handle this or should I replace it?

Also I am going to install an Optima battery how would this battery help my system?

Thanx!

you'll be fine running 750w rms on the 110amp alt. assuming your NOT bumping it 90% all day every day with the engine off.

instead of buying the battery, buy yourself some 4ga wires and DIY a grounding kit under the hood. better yet, the big-3.

when/if you plan to run a serious set-up in the future, suggest an HO alternator and 1/0 gauge wires for the grounding

110A is a good sized alt.

I've got a 110 in my car which has fairly demanding stock electronics. Dual 15A electric radiator fans, fog lights, power dr. seat, plus all the basics. I'm running about 1200w rms and it idles at 14.2v with the system blasting techmaster, headlights, foglights, and 1 fan all on. I would think 1500w would be no problem - maybe 2k.

same situation im in man..except i have an 05 accord..but im pushing at least 2k watts to my sub and i havent had any real problems..im just going to upgrade my battery in a few weeks..gl though

If that was the case, he should be worried about the battery, and not the alternator //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And as many have said, 110A alty will be fine. A lot of beginners seem to have the notion that your alternator must be able to supply the sum of all your amps fuses, and that is just not correct. As n2audio stated in another thread, on a nine.1, at full volume on music, you would probably pull no more than 40-50A of current, yet it has 120A of fuses onboard.
