2003 Chevrolet tahoe rear quarter panel subwoofer size

hey guys,

i remember seeing a while back that someone put an aftermarket subwoofer in place of the stock subwoofer that is located in the rear quarter panel on the drivers side. If i remember correctly it was an re 8" subwoofer. I curious to know if an 8" subwoofer with a larger depth could fit in that area. I do not have access to the car as it is a surprise.
