2002 Chevy Tahoe Alternator Install

everyone keeps telling me this but i do not understand what they are talking about i dont even know if i have located the correct thing to be the tensioner...

Thanks in advance,

Joe

open the hood, look at the passenger side of the motor, the top most pulley is attached to the tensioner. Use a 15mm wrench and pull towards the driver side like you are tryin to tighten it, when you get enough slack, you can slide the belt off. If you dont see what im talking about, let me know and Ill take a pic for you.

thanks i found it but i loosened it and was pushing on it lol and i couldnt get it to budge i will try that to retighten it and pull to the driver side thanks for the help and i will shoot u a pm if i need more help

thanks again

Joe

There is some air intake ducts running around above the tensioner that you will need to remove in order to get enough slack to remove the belt and put it back on. I believe it takes a socket (not sure on the size) not a rachet end.
