2000 Grand Marquis Build

****, that sucks. I guess I need to look into flip-outs instead.

Might still be able to fit, I got a Double Din in my 04 Crown Vic and the only mod I had to make was to dremel the stock radio mounting tabs off. After that, space is tight behind it, but it just slides right in, my JVC fit fine.

And my bad Stilltippin863, got your PM but just been busy, im on AIM now if you still need help.

Exactly, plus I always set my Bass/Treble setting to flat, that way I can feed a speaker its full RMS and not worry about overworking the driver.
see the thang is this radio does not have a bass/treble....it is all in a big eq like the one i posted and i dont know what is bass and what is treble....lol

did ur factory alt have a black case on the back of the alt? there where like 3 different types of those alts ... the holes should line up if its for that car
yes sir it does have a little black case on the back of the factory alt....and the top holes dont line up with the bracket... so just the bottom 2 bolts are holding it in place...???????

Mechman said it is for my car just this style alt it not made to line up with the top bracket.....i also sent him an e-mail asking him about the volts....at this point i am not happy with it...

the back case is a different type of case then the standard alt for the 4.6l it has a different regulator mechman should have known this .. thats why the bolts dont line up.. cause its a diffrent alt

Nice work Stilltippin I cant wait to upgrade my music. I decided to get some newer rims and paint right now but I will be redoing my system soon.

The 03+ panthers have a different heating duct which allows a double din to fit better, i am going to change to the newer duct as soon as I find a 03+ at the junkyard again.

Thanks Alot Buddy....stay tuned....

also i am calling MECHMAN tommorrow to find out if he can replace this alt i have with one that is a direct bolt up with same amps....if not i am going to ask for full refund... so i will let everyone know what is going on tommorrow...i just do not feel safe with this alt sitting there with only 2 bolts holding it on...the last upgraded alt i had was an EA 250 amp and it bolted right up......so i dont see why this 6g unit wont....

Well....i called Mechman .....he said i would not find a 6g alt 270amp that will bolt directly up to my car? i was told different by other people... but he did say that if i wanted to just box it back up and send it in for a full refund ...what do ya'll thank i should do? but i have to cover shipping and i am gunna lose money accepting it back into my paypal account....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
