2000 Ford Taurus Stereo Help

I got my 2000 Ford Taurus a couple months ago, and it has every feature in the book..except a cd player..

i have researched replacement dash panels, but none are for the climate control system that i have, which I love and am not willing to part with.

so i started searching in my trunk for the radio as i had been told thats where it was located..and there it was..after 2 months of listening to the radio i had found it..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

now i've previously installed 3 car stereos, but those were all dash mounted..and this one has different plugs than my cd player that i had installed in my old 95 contour..

please give me your suggestions for what i can do to get my cd player working,

I would prefer to mount it up front where i can reach it, but if thats not possible i will do the trunk..

I am about to do the same to my brothers car. It has a ton of miles on it so im just gunna cut the radio out that is in it place the new one, well old used single din i have, into the hole run new wire and call it dun. I don't feel like spending the cash on that dash kit just to have the wiring that goes to the amp in back and its getting new speakers that my mom bought him for his Bday. I should start tomorrow i think he is going to come over today and stay the night. I also may put an old kicker or orion 12 in it powered by an old jensen amp. perfect bugdet install for a crapbox car that has no radio right now. I will post pics so you can see how ugly the dash will look with a single din cut into it so you can decide if you want to do the same.

**** well if you had an older model tarus 96-99 i have an extra dash kit that i got when i ordered one off ebay and got two. But this doesnt really help much, but the kit with the wires that i have deff made things a lot easier.

there is a special wiring harness made for that car with extended wires...to go from the trunk to the front of the car....

they are supplied with the dash kit...part of reaon of high cost...not sure if sold seperate....

junk it...cuz ford makes crappy cars...the only car they put effot into is the gto other than that nadda....

but if want a setup idea....2 niteshade12's with 1 3kd

the 99 is oval the 2000 is more square of a kit i was going to buy the one off Louisiana_CRX but i checked with my bro hes got a 2000. the wiring kit still need to be run to the rear amp to get to the speakers but if you are putting in new speakers just run new wire.

junk it...cuz ford makes crappy cars...the only car they put effot into is the gto other than that nadda....

but if want a setup idea....2 niteshade12's with 1 3kd

yea i did notice the shape change..but it doesn't matter they don't make a kit for my climate control system and i am not gonna give it up..

so i was gonna mount it either in a dash storage compartment, the console, or the glove box..whichever is easier..i'm thinking glove box for aesthetic reasons, and it would keep it horizontal, since thats how its manufactured..

also i wont have to cut any holes or anything, i can just feed them through the gap..

what i need is to find out how to hook it up since my cords dont match, and how to run the wires to where i want them and still have the radio work..

i might take the dash apart just to have a look at how they put it together..but i dont want to mess anything up..

I think I have a dash kit and wiring harness for that car.....as long as its the knob climate control and not the electronic digital one....

GTOs are Pontiac, or GM. I don't know where where you heard that from.....

i do have the electronic climate controll..so there isn't a kit for me..

im looking fo help finding out what wires i need to get to set my cd player up in the glove box..

i found the radio in the trunk..but the cords dont fit..hence my dillema..
