I just don't see you being happy with purchasing a new amp with out actually hearing much/if any difference at all.
The AP will do rated after clipping starts. It has actually been proven. Has nothing to do with the lack of electrical.ap1500s do rated its been proven many times . they get their bad name because no one has the electrical to back it. now to answer the question
the AQ will do 1400x1@1 ohm. so if you have it to spend go at it. but you will still need to upgrade your electrical a bit
Output Power 14.4V @ 5% THD 1470X1 @ 1 ohmThe AP will do rated after clipping starts. It has actually been proven. Has nothing to do with the lack of electrical.
Also the AQ will not do 1400 clean.
AQ's won't touch 1400 clean sorry. I have tested a ton(around 40 or so) of them while I worked there haha.Output Power 14.4V @ 5% THD 1470X1 @ 1 ohm /\ thats from AQs website and ive seen better out of them
the AP on one of SMD's dd1's can do 1200 before distortion at 1.5 reactive. i dont know why some of these topics get touchy. we have all seen different from different setups and owning them. im just voicing my opinion and experience
understood. but you have to think. how many people have gotten rated out of ap? and how many havent? and also the variables are so high when touching the whole ''rated'' number that its only up to personal experience instead of opinions. if he is worried the 1500 wont do rated the 1800 will do better power than the aq and be cleaner . feel free to school me im always up for learningAQ's won't touch 1400 clean sorry. Not touchy or upset, just hate the whole "AP's do rated" conversations. Even if one of them did managed to do rated power before clipping it is less likely that others well. Their qc practices are very poor.
I think if he wants to have an amp that will do rated and cleanly his best bet is to go much larger in size. Thus allowing for head room later and ensuring he has the power he wants right now. I can think of a few 2k@1ohm amps that fit the bill.understood. but you have to think. how many people have gotten rated out of ap? and how many havent? and also the variables are so high when touching the whole ''rated'' number that its only up to personal experience instead of opinions. if he is worried the 1500 wont do rated the 1800 will do better power than the aq and be cleaner . feel free to school me im always up for learning
your dsc1500 would do him very well.I think if he wants to have an amp that will do rated and cleanly his best bet is to go much larger in size. Thus allowing for head room later and ensuring he has the power he wants right now. I can think of a few 2k@1ohm amps that fit the bill.
I agree that what you get out of your amp if tested in a car setting is subjective to each specific application. As for as who has tested what and got what, I have seen more testing showing power from AP amps but most of them never show a scope on them to verify the wave. From playing with them on a test bench I found that there is a reason they cost so much less then anything else.
They can do over rated, however, not a at a ton past rated while clean.ahh...Aqs easily do rated and then some... i own two... they dont preform identical, but dropping to 13.2V at 50hz tone, 2.4ohms, yeilded 67 amps...and about 70 amps on my second one.
so i got 924 watts at 2.4 ohms at 13.2V,
and i got 884 watts at 2.4 ohms at 13.2V on my second.
(Rated at 14.4 870 watts at 2 ohms)
I have them strapped.
now at 14.4V, and a true 1 ohm load, it will easily do over rated....
