200 amp alternator, 2 optima's, Now Cap?

I'll have to think about adding. I'm not really sure if it will be worth the difference in cash though. I would also like to try and fix a small problem I have with chargning. The only time I run into any kind of a problem is on idle. If I crank the system the voltage will drop to about 12.0-12.2 volts. When the car is revved a little the problem goes away, voltage goes to 14.4 and stays there. I think I'm going to help remedy this by going back to stock pulleys instead of underdrive ones. There just isn't enough amps being put out on idle to keep up with the car, accesories, and all the power that is getting pulled from the stereo.

you added an underdrive pulley to a H.O alt ?

I already had underdrive pulleys for the alternator, waterpump, and crank on the car before I switched the alternator. Then when I put the alternator on I got a smaller pulley just for it and then a new belt. The problem is the crank pulley is still slowing it down some. I think if I switch it back to stock it will help out.

you are already underdriving the accessories and adding on a smaller pulley is just underdriving the alt more

i have two batcaps for sale if you want them, two 400's they did the job of a cap for me by getting rid of that light dim that is noticable to the human eye but not that charging system.

Actually a smaller alt pulley will overdrive the alt, but in this case that will probably only bring it up to normal stock RPM. Going back to the stock ratios on everything else will get the alt into overdrive status.
