I'm concerned about power

I have an iraggi alt. I had it tested under a load. It is doing 180-190 amps. Voltage is holding 14.2 at a 100amp load. My big 3 is all done using 1/0guage welding cable. Battery right now is the stock battery that came with the car. I do have a new yellow top ready to install.

What worries me is my potential power cunsumption.

The sub amp is a Soundstream PCA3500d which does 3500watts at 12volts, and closer to 3900at 14.4volts. The component amp is a DLS Ultimate A4 which will be running bridged at 4ohms.. That is 500watts.

So this system has the potential of 4000 watts.

I am guessing my A/C and basic car stuff will be around 40amps. So, being conservative I've got 140amps left. 140*14.2=1988watts. I'm super concerned. How much will these amps actually use at daily listening levels? I do tend to listen to music pretty loud, and favor lots of bass.

I believe dom iraggi charged me about 400 for the alt. I had to spend another 150 to have it put in. I don't really want to spend 600 or whatever he charges for a 300amp alt, but I don't want the entire system to suffer because I don't have enough current to power the equipement I have.

HELP PLEASE !!

i would say throw a couple of audiobahn cap's on that shit and you will be good

You can directly control the current consumption of the amps with this little thing called the volume knob. If you don't turn it way up, keep it from clipping by setting the gains properly and don't drive around listening to test tones, you should be OK.
and listening to music isn't going to be running your amps full tilt for any extended amounts of time. i'm sure there will be 20-30seconds periodically with no bass. 600 sucks for a alt though, 300amp for me will be half that. but if really concerned sell the one you have and get what you need or get smaller sub amp. OR just set gains according to how much power you can supply the amp with and be done with it

now what fun is not driving around bumping the tones //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thank you IJ.. I'll do just that.
